Tongue-a-licious

When I got home today, I stuck my tongue out at Khaysia -- and she stuck hers out right back at me!!! I was astonished. This is the same girl who has not done the sign for "more", "mommy" or "daddy" (or any of the many others we have been teaching her).

Her Auntie Sandra cracked up when she saw it. It is the cutest thing EVER.

Since she mimicked what I do with my tongue -- it is obvious that she has the 'brain power' to do the signs. It is hilarious because when you talk to her because she will grunt or babble a response. Hopefully soon she will pick up on the fact that she has the tools to commuinicate with the english speaking world.

Khaysia is so smart in many ways (but don't all parents think that they have a "smart" kid). She is only 8 months and she can open and close cabinents, remember the drawers she is able to open and recognize the doorstops in EVERY room make a funny sound when she plunks them. She is even trying her best to walk. And if you clap your hands, she will be more than happy to clap along. But when I do a sign - she just looks at me and laughs and behind her eyes I hear crickets chirping.*lol*

Que sera sera.
