Yesterday, we went to see the doctor for Kstarr's nine month check-up. Since Khaysia was born, Kamal and I have been to every one of her check-ups together! (Oh, what parents do for their first born *lol*).
Khaysia is 26.5 inches and weighs 16.9 pounds - putting her in the 12 percentile. Meaning out of 100 kids her same age, 88 would be taller and bigger than her! Being the over cautious parent that I am, I asked the doctor if this was okay. Her doctor said this is absolutely fine...she is simply on the “small” size of normal and reiterated that she still was in the normal range and that growth spurts happen in different times in an infant’s life, so who knows how she will end up.
The doctor confirmed what I knew all along. Khaysia is not teething, and currently has no prospects for teeth. To this date, so many people who have seen her have said: “Wow, she looks like she’s teething” – deep down I always knew this was not the case. And finally, the doctor confirmed my suspicions. “I wouldn’t worry about it at all,” the doctor stated rather firmly, “my children did not get any teeth until they were 11 and 13 months!”
