Back in Seattle -- only to leave again

Apologies for the lack of posting.

Kamal, Khaysia and I went to California for Kamal's family reunion. I believe this was Khaysia's 12th flight. I am amazed at what a well traveled infant we have -- she is an amazing on a plane. We leave for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in 5 days, which will be her FIRST international trip.

The family reunion was a blast! Khaysia got TONS of love from ALL of Kamal's family -- she was babysat by great-grandma Sallie, fed by auntie Gina, danced with cousin Anthony and even rocked to sleep by Cousin Marlissa of Michigan.

But more importantly, she accomplished several milestones on California trip:

Milestone 1: She climbed up stairs (and down)
She was not even scared...of course coming down took more creativity --but she made it!

Milestone 2: She learned to wave.
In fact, I think she knows the word 'bye' because a friend said 'goodbye' to her and actually she waved.

Milestone 3: SHE SAID HER FIRST WORD!!!!!
Okay, so Khaysia started saying "mama" on Mother's Day of this year, and she says "dada" too. However, she is not aware of what she is saying. In my opinion, the first word is when she realizes she is saying a word.

On our trip, Greg (Kamal's brother) and Gina have a dog. Whenever Khaysia would see the dog she would say "DAH" meaning "DOG". If she heard the dog bark, she would say "DAH!". Sometimes she would even point to it...while squealing "DAH!"

Our little girl is growing up....

(stay tuned for photos of our Califorina trip)
